Ouran High School Host Club A

Ann summery: Haruhi is a poor tomboyish student at a school for the ultra-wealthy, able to attend because of a scholarship, and unable to even afford a uniform (300,000yen about $3,000 USA). One day, she stumbles across the decidedly peculiar but very popular Ouran Host Club. She tries to leave, but accidentally breaks a vase(8,000,000 yen about $80,000 USA) and unable to pay for it, she's told that she'll have to stay and do odd jobs. That is, until they decide she would be more valuable as a club member. Not realizing she's female due to her appearance, they fix her up and give her a male uniform. She's an instant hit, so they decide to have her keep up the charade even after they find out the truth. Haruhi, being average almost to a fault, doesn't know what to make of the unconventional activities of the Host Club (or of the even more unconventional members), but having little choice, she plays along. Before long, real bonds are formed, friends made, and Haruhi finds herself accepted in a way she could never have been otherwise in this affluent school.

Ki’s Take: so first I read this at the book store mostly just skimming and I was completely unimused. To me it was just a bunch of guys (unrealistically hot) gathered together because they were boerd and they chose to wear strange customest every week doing improbable things that the rich can only do. With extremely strange girls as customers (ya know they all seem like the foaming at the mouth rabbit fan girls … if you need a better example look at the Naruto second of DA and tell who much of the first page is yaoi… those kinda fan girls) along with the sad case for the day which must be helped.

Needless to say I was not amused I read upto about volume 3 before declaring it uninteresting and hating it (I was also a little mad because I klove millenuim snow by the same author but the story was placed on hiatuses after volume 2 in order to work on this story) until I visited animenewsnetwork.com to see if there was something interesting to watch and they had allowed the ouran club to take over the site with rose back ground and everything @-@ in the summery (which was on every page) it claimed that the comedy was “intelligent” scoffing a little bit at “how in the would could such a stupid story set up be ‘intelligent’?

Finally getting to the part where I actually watched it >.> I died laughing o.0 the light bulbs coming on as everyone figured Haruhi out well except for the club president how he found out was hilarious XDD (and the way he found about haruhi was much funnier then in the manga) so I decided to watch the next episode ^^ I loved how few cliff hangeres they were bt at he same time that consept of almost every episode being able to stand by itself as filler are kinda bother some but at the same time I love it and yes I picked out a favorite from the male harem and started routing for him to end up with haruhi (he is the ultimate comic relief ever!!!! Daddy says so!!! XDDD ) don’t let appernces fool you, the glasses guy is actually kinda evil, the devilish looking twins are truly monsters, the pip squeak is a world renouned martial artist and the stokic guy hold up peap squeak… wait CAN he talk… hmm

Characters: B (flat characters each with unique twicks which have been used before but used in a very colorful manner with a heroine just like Buety pops Heroine (kiri? I think that’s her name) and a total nut bag)
Chatare development: C (hmmmm they do change, they do I give them that much but the progress is kinda slow )

overall recommendation: High
+ so many episodes have you cling on to your chair so you don’t fall out laughing
+cast creates colorful interactions with one another
-character personalities for the most part are not original
-lacking the deep portion of shoujo where self exploration is necessary

lastly: i don't know why they chose to change the color of her uniform for the picture to make it different from the others in the anime it's self it's the same as anyone elses.
